"To live in Colorado is a joy
I will not soon grow weary of. The mountains, the blue sky,
the many activities to choose from, and the touches of Colorado
that remind us of why we are here. It may be a favorite brew
pub, a particular trail we love to hike, sitting outside on
the 16th Street Mall, or perhaps listening to one of your favorite,
home-grown Colorado bands. When I first heard the Sharla Jackson
Band play, it was in a benefit capacity at the Mamma Mia 5K
Run & Walk on a Mother's Day.
It was an event held at City Park to benefit HIV CareLink, a local
non-profit that gives much needed support to those in our community
dealing with HIV/AIDS. There were other places where they
could have been that Sunday morning. They offered their talented,
strong music to a fun environment, and for that we were thankful. |
