"To live in Colorado is a joy I will not soon grow weary of. The mountains, the blue sky, the many activities to choose from, and the touches of Colorado that remind us of why we are here. It may be a favorite brew pub, a particular trail we love to hike, sitting outside on the 16th Street Mall, or perhaps listening to one of your favorite, home-grown Colorado bands. When I first heard the Sharla Jackson Band play, it was in a benefit capacity at the Mamma Mia 5K Run & Walk on a Mother's Day. It was an event held at City Park to benefit HIV CareLink, a local non-profit that gives much needed support to those in our community dealing with HIV/AIDS. There were other places where they could have been that Sunday morning. They offered their talented, strong music to a fun environment, and for that we were thankful.
Their music is hard to put in a box. Perhaps it is best described as pop-rock with a Colorado alternative flair thrown in. Sharla has an amazing, powerful voice that enters the depths of your very soul. She is fun, interactive with the audience, and is a woman that you would like to just sit down and chat with over a cup of coffee. Her accompanying musicians are great, with a perfect blend of guitar and powerful drums. It is a great match of vocals, string and percussion. I have enjoyed their vibrant performances at many different venues, and have loved every minute of those times. Check out their web site at www.sharlajacksonband.com for their event calendar and then do yourself a favor.....go listen to them!"
